Artist

(1760〜1849)

His representative works include '36 Views of Mount Fuji' and 'Hokusai Manga' and he is a world-famous painter. He drew shinrabansho (all things in nature) and published over 30,000 works in his life. He was ambitious from a young age and outstanding not only in woodblock prints but also in original ukiyoe. However, Hokusai's position as an artist became unshakable not only by the announcement of his "36 Views of Mount Fuji" but also by landscape painting. Hokusai showed his high artistic quality in ukiyoe, but his excellent depiction can be seen in the popular 'Hokusai Manga'.

We have reproduced Hokusai's works with digital technology. Let's enjoy Hokusai's works!
